Do you enjoy combining substances and watching how they interact with one another? Do you see your future self in a lab coat? Look no further, future 熊猫. Northwest has the perfect lab for you!
在西北, chemistry students gain practical laboratory experience and foundational knowledge in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, 生物化学, physical chemistry and analytical chemistry. Students can choose a chemistry degree that is certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS) or emphasize in general chemistry, 生物化学.
的 general chemistry major allows students to select electives that suit their individual interests. Many students choose to double major in chemistry and another area, such as geology, agronomy or biology.
的 生物化学 emphasis focuses on compounds in living systems including their composition, properties and chemical reactions, to understand the structure and function of biological systems. 的 cross-discipline curriculum in biology and chemistry trains students to be competitive in the rapidly expanding biotechnology field.
的 ACS-certified major in chemistry provides students with deep exposure to the many aspects of chemistry. Students are intellectually challenged and gain an appreciation for how chemistry impacts their daily lives. This nationally recognized degree is designed to prepare students for a research career.
Minor programs in chemistry are available. A minor in chemistry teaches students the foundations of college algebra, physics and chemistry. This minor requires the completion of 24 credit hours.
A minor in 生物化学 teaches students the foundations of college algebra, biology and plant science. This minor requires the completion of 28 credit hours.
